Symptom
You want to change the hosting type of a domain, e.g. change web space into a forwarding. But in the “hosting settings” of the web space control panel the link to “edit” the hosting type is missing.
Cause
a) The domain is the main domain of the web space. The main domain is always web space.
b) In the domain an application from the application repository is installed. As long as the application is linked with the domain, the hosting type cannot be changed.
Solution
a) Use a forwarding configuration described in the article linked with this article.
b) If an application was installed form the app repository, remove it with its removal link.
