Symptom

You would like to name your website's home page differently than index.html, index.cgi, index.pl, index.php, index.xhtml, index.htm, or index.shtm so that the page will be shown if your URL is opened without a specific page address.

Solution

1. Log in to the webspace control panel.

2. Select the "Websites & Domains" tab.

3. For the domain in which you want to make the settings, click on the icon "Settings for Apache and nginx".

4. In the "General Apache settings" section, click on "Index files - Enter custom value".

5. Add your special homepage page name to the list. You can also insert it at the beginning. The web server checks the names in the order of appearance.
