Symptom

You want to create an FTP account for individual users. However, users should only be able to log into a specific subdirectory (subfolder) of the webspace. They should not be able to access the root or other users' folders.

Solution

1. Log in to the web space control panel.

2. Click on the "FTP access" icon.

3. Click “Add FTP Account”.

4. Enter the desired username and password. In the "Base Directory" field, specify what the root directory of the user account should be. Do not select the default "/" because that is the root of the webspace. Instead, select the subdirectory to associate with the user. The user can later reach this directory and all branches, but not the parent directory or other users’ directories.

5. Click "OK".
