Symptom

You own a domain name that you want to transfer to another provider before the contract period expires. You either want to transfer a domain from another provider to Bitpalace, or you want to transfer a domain from Bitpalace to another provider.

Solution

Domain names can be transferred at any time with the exception of the ICANN transfer lock period. This is true for contract periods that have not yet ended, too. To transfer a domain name you need the auth-info code of that name. The auth-info code can be obtained from your current contractor of the domain registration (normally your current web hosting provider).

If you transfer a domain from another provider to Bitpalace, please note that some other providers disallow access to your mailboxes and web space once a domain name was transferred away. Most providers however still allow access even after a domain transfer.

When you transfer a domain name from Bitpalace to another provider, you will continue to have full access to your directories, files, databases and mailboxes until the contract period ends. To access your data you can simply use the host name instead of the domain name.
